C'est presque ça : Songdog

Attention les violons, attention le concept… Lyndon Morgans alias Songdog raconte autant qu'il chante A wretched sinner's song, opéra intimiste où un tatoué nommé Ruben connaît le feu de l'amour, son enfer et le perd. Ici on se saoûle au vin de messe, on achète des roses pour s'en faire une couronne d'épines, on traîne son âme en peine à Montparnasse. Tout ça pour une créature qui ressemble à Kim Novak… La voix précieuse-amère a quelque chose d'un jeune Bowie et des élans scottwalkériens parfois bercés d'accordéon font de cet ambitieux bibelot une curiosité très anglaise. ? Lyndon Morgans, alias Songdog, narrates as much as sings "A Wretched Sinner's Song", a detailed, impressionistic operetta wherein a tattooed Ruben undergoes passionate love as a form of hell only to then lose it, wherein characters get rat-arsed on altar wine or buy roses to fashion a crown of thorns from, or drag their ailing souls round the streets of Montparnasse. And all for a girl who looks like Kim Novak. The bitter-sweet, mannered vocals --- redolent of the young Bowie --- and the Scott Walker-like surges of passion occasionally tempered by soothing waves of accordion make this ambitious curio a very English oddity.
